Søren has over 33 years experience within the Police Scientific Support arena. Commencing as a fingerprint officer with Greater Manchester Police he subsequently qualified as an operational CSI with West Mercia Police and then Durham Constabulary where he remained for 20 years, 15 of which were as a senior CSI. Throughout this period, he served as a Crime Scene Manager and attained specialist qualifications as a CBRN CSI; additionally, he was instrumental to the development and implementation of more efficient working practices for which he was awarded a Senior Officer’s commendation for his efforts. In 2009 Søren was seconded to the Forensic Centre in Durham where he delivered CSI training to countless students from UK and international police agencies’. It was during this period that he also qualified as a teacher with Teeside University. Following the transition to the College of Policing, Søren continued to deliver advanced training to Crime Scene Managers and Senior Investigating Officers and qualified as an Associate with the British Institute of Professional Photography. This latter qualification saw him develop and deliver a course that was acknowledged by the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine and focused on teaching medical professionals how to photograph injuries in a professional, ethical and legal manner. Søren is also a keen advocate of 360º photography at crime scenes and within the training environment and in more recent years has gained considerable experience delivering forensic training in Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Peru.
